Although this month started out with some VERY cold days and nights, it's been a great month on our little suburban farm. Pea seeds, radish seeds and spinach seeds started sprouting. Lettuce plants FINALLY started getting some growth once the weather warmed and our girls are laying like crazy(at least, the ones who can lay are)! Having a farm is so rewarding, my kids are loving the girls and enjoying getting eggs for breakfast and baking. They are learning where food comes from and how much work goes into providing nutritional food for a family. I am so glad we have our little farm area in the suburbs!

Chicken Knowledge: If you wash a fertilized egg you can kill the little chick inside. washing takes away it's protective coating and allows germs to get inside.

Egg Count: 45 eggs since March 18th
We added 3 new birds this month on the 26th, so we now have 13, 2 of the 3 new girls we got are already laying!
Produce Count: Haven't eaten anything so far, maybe next months update?
