When you have one of those days

One of those days when you roll out of bed and you can sense that things just aren't going to go quite the way you hoped. One of those days when the dog, first thing in the morning while you are still in your pj's and just started your first cup of coffee before the kids wake up, the dog decides that he won't go to the dog run to do his business but instead finds the garden, yeah, that day.
One of those days when the kids wake up and the 2 year old decides his cereal is better eaten from his lap, upside down and the 10 year old is grumpy and mad because the 4 year old and 2 year old climbed in his bed to wake him, thinking they were being helpful. One of those days when the 4 year old strips naked and runs in the front yard while the nice, friendly, man in the driveway is fixing your cracked windshield. One of those days when you are making lunch hurriedly because school ran late because the kids needed to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes and you have to get the baby to a doctor appointment, preferably on time. Yep, that day!
One of those days when the girl gets some kind of ridiculously sticky mess in her hair and you wonder why the tape you used to fix your book that the 2 year old ripped couldn't hold as well as whatever this mess was and then, while you work the sticky mess out, the 2 year old comes to you in all his underwear glory and says he pooped. That kind of day.
Those days when the back of the book case falls apart because the duct tape doesn't hold and all your school books go tumbling down to the bottom shelf and you just don't have the energy to fix it right now. Those days when you remember at 4pm that you forgot to pull meat out of the freezer for dinner. Those kind of days.

It's on these days that I have to step back and remind myself that I am a Child of God, and He sustains me. It's on these days that I have to remember that Satan is the one that tells us we have to be a perfect mother, a perfect wife and a perfect homemaker. It's on these days that I have to remember to spend a few extra minutes with the Lord so that he can remind me that I am not perfect and neither are my kids, and it's ok if the day doesn't go quite as I planned, because every day goes just as He planned and I can find peace in that!

"They" say these are the days you will remember! I tend to agree, because one day, no one will get sticky messes in their hair, no one will spill milk all over the floor or wake up with an attitude. One day it will be quiet and we will sit and think about all the funny days we had, and we will miss them!

Have you had THOSE days?
